Most extended health benefits have $500-2000 of coverage for Registered Clinical Counsellors. Marula Counselling provides you with an invoice after every counselling session which can be submitted to extended health benefits. Please check your extended health benefits as you may have coverage for these sessions.
We provide counselling for all age groups, from infants to adults. We also prioritize support for LGBTQIA2S+, Indigenous, Black, and people of color communities.
Registered Clinical Counsellors
In BC, a Registered Clinical Counsellor holds a Masters Degree and maintains good standing registration with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors. We do not diagnose but instead provide counselling support for a variety of difficulties as well as mental health conditions. They may include anxiety, depression, grief/loss, trauma, psychosis, bipolar disorder, difficulties with family relationships, life transitions, fertility issues, brain injuries, child and youth mental health, attachment based parenting support and suicide risk. Counsellors see you as the expert in your own life.
Psychologists
Psychologists in British Columbia hold a PsyD or PhD. They provide assessments and diagnoses for mental health conditions in addition to counselling support.
