Alishia is a strength based multicultural counsellor with extensive experience in treating   children, youth and adults. Alishia is certified in a variety of therapeutic models such as: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), Expressive Play Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and Mindfulness & Somatic techniques. Alishia works with the Ministry of Children and Family Development as a Child and Youth Mental Health Clinician providing clinical counselling to children and their families. Alongside, Alishia also provides Trauma Based Counselling to accident victims and Exposure Response Treatment for adults.

 

Alishia is trained to help individuals navigate various strategies that will empower and support their need to manage anxiety, panic attacks, mood disorders, depression, grief, loss, trauma, selective mutism, stress-related disorders, fertility anxiety and other relationship issues. Alishia has experience working with diverse populations from various walks of life.

 

Alishia is a lifelong learner and is committed to her continuing education. Alishia strives to create a non-judgmental and safe space in her sessions.
